Banda Aceh - According to traditional law, the fishermen must bring anything unusual they find in the sea to the Panglima Laot's office. Knowing I was interested in technology, the fishermen started bringing in these satellite tracking devices. They marked down the longitude and latitude where they picked up each of these devices.

We have reported finding these in traditional fishing areas to the Indonesian central government Department of fisheries, Indonesia's IOTC representative and the Indonesian Navy.

Several of the satellite tracking devices found in Aceh waters were traced back to the Txori Toki (4134 GT) registered in Spain. Many of these commercial boats have sophisticated electronics and some even have helicopters onboard to help them look for schools of tuna.
